Product Description In the first of a dazzling series, Mary Jo Putney introduces the Lost Lords-maverick childhood friends with a flair for defying convention. Each is about to discover the woman who is his perfect match-but perfection doesn't come easily, even for the noble Duke of Ashton. . .Battered by the sea, Adam remembers nothing of his past, his ducal rank, nor of the shipwreck that almost claimed his life. However, he's delighted to hear that the golden-haired vision tending his wounds is his wife. Mariah's name and face may not be familiar, but her touch, her warmth, feel deliciously right. . . When Mariah Clarke prayed for a way to deter a bullying suitor, she didn't imagine she'd find the answer washed ashore on a desolate beach. Convincing Adam that he is her husband is surprisingly easy. Resisting the temptation to act his wife, in every way, will prove anything but. And now a passion begun in fantasy has become dangerously real-and completely irresistible. . . "Intoxicating, romantic and utterly ravishing..."-Eloisa James Mary Jo Putney has made all of the national bestseller lists including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly. Five of her books have been named among the year's top five romances by The Library Journal, and three more made Booklist Top Ten Romance lists. A ten-time finalist for the Romance Writers of America RITA, she has won the honor twice and is on the RWA Honor Roll for bestselling authors. She has been awarded two Romantic Times Career Achievement Awards, four NJRW Golden Leaf awards, plus the NJRW career achievement award for historical romance. Though most of her books have been historical, she has also published three contemporary romances.

Mary Jo Putney scores again April 24, 2010 M. Reilly (Midwest, USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
As usual Mary Jo Putney's, book is an enjoyable read with life-like characters whose values are strong. The characters are not stagnant and develop as the story enfolds. Other points that endear M.J. Putney's books to me are that they do not contain an inordinate amount of graphic descriptions of "bed" scenes, (which a good romance does not need), and there is little, if any, use of offensive language. I anxiously looking forward to the rest of the "Lost Lords" series.

This is the first time I've read Mary Jo Putney and I will definately read more! From the moment I started reading I couldn't put it down until I had finished the whole book.
Great Romance July 10, 2009 Natasha (Maryland) 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
If you are a romantic, and want to get lost in a book that is a page turner from beginning to end, I recommend "Loving a Lost Lord". Ms. Putney's words are imaginative and flow easily. I notice several reviewers on Amazon have analyzed some of the romance books, including this one to death. Lighten up! This genre is supposed to be fun. If you want to analyze read "War and Peace".
